Extradition my appeal to Kenny MacAskill justice minister

Extradition my appeal to Kenny MacAskill justice minister. I have tried to contact Kenny MacAskill to find out his position on the 2003 Extradition Act but I have had no replies to my Emails. I would be grateful if the justice minister could give me any indication as to his position on the matter of being extradited without evidence and the abuse of the 2003 Extradition Act itself? Also since he must sign our Extradition papers then it might be a good time to give his opinion so I can plan on finding homes for my four children and sell our home before Extradition.

Brian Howes New Years Extradition Comments. How can Kerry-Ann Shanks and I be extradited to the US without evidence of any kind? This extradition process is flawed and so is the extradition act which gives no safeguards against illegal extradition.

A couple facing extradition to the US over an internet-based drug making ring has been remanded in custody. Jan 31st 2007 But the couple were only selling chemicals that are legal here in the UK.
Kerry-Ann Shanks, 30, and 43-year-old Brian Howes were refused bail at Edinburgh Sheriff Court. The illegal remand was based on false information from PF David Dickson who has been known to suppress information in the past. The couple were detained on Tuesday following a police operation in Bo’ness, near Falkirk.
It has been alleged that they supplied chemicals to illegal drugs laboratories in the US involved in making the synthetic drug methamphetamine but no evidence has been produced and is not needed for extradition.
The move followed an indictment handed down by a grand jury in Arizona which alleges that the couple sold chemicals through their website – including red phosphorus and iodine – which are used to manufacture the drug, also known as crystal meth. But no evidence shows that the couple knew they were being used to make drugs. The chemicals were sold for legitimate use by Mr Howes and Miss Shanks.
The arrests of Mr Howes a father-of-four and Ms Shanks – a mother & father-of-four – came at the climax of an international operation involving police and other law enforcement agencies investigating the making of the drug.
Police allege that the pair created a “one stop shop” for the chemicals. But do no4t say the chemicals are legal in the UK.

Extradition battle couple on bail
A couple who are facing extradition to the US over an alleged £40m international drug ring have been freed on bail. Only after Brian Howes went on a thirty day hunger strike which put him in hospital to protest His partner and himself from being remanded without charge or even questioning.
Kerry-Ann Shanks and Brian Howes have been locked up on remand since they were arrested at their home in Bo’ness, near Falkirk, in January.
They have been accused by American officials of supplying large amounts of chemicals to crystal meth labs but the chemicals are legal to have and to sell from the UK.
The couple’s extradition hearing will be held in October in Edinburgh.
The pair has been asked to surrender their passports as a condition of their release, and to stay at their home address. Kerry-Ann Shanks and Brian Howes did not have passports or Money so PF Dickson lied to have the parents of four young girls remanded.
Mr Howes, 42, must report to Bo’ness police station twice a day and is subject to a curfew between 2000 BST and 0800 BST even though he has no criminal record.
Ms Shanks, 29, must check in with police in Bo’ness once a day.
The chemicals the couple are accused of supplying in an internet operation are legal in Scotland, but regulated in the US.
A warrant for their arrest and extradition was issued by a court in Phoenix, Arizona.
If tried and convicted, they face a maximum penalty of 20 years jail, $250,000 fine or both. This is crazy.

A Bo’ness couple who have been accused of fuelling the global production of the drug crystal meth have been released on bail after eight months in prison. Brian Howes and Kerry Anne Shanks were arrested in January at the request of American law enforcement agencies.
This morning a Scottish judge said they should be freed while their extradition case is dealt with.

Brian Howes and his partner Kerry-Ann Shanks have spent 214 days in prison after the Americans requested their extradition.

Mr Howes has been on hunger strike for the last 30 of them – as these pictures from the time Of his arrest show, his protest has taken its toll.

The Americans say the couple supplied chemicals to illegal drugs labs in the states, where they were used to manufacture six million pounds worth of the deadly drug crystal meth. The US agencies have tabled more than 80 charges against them – and they could face massive jail sentences if they’re convicted.

This morning a judge granted them bail as they continue to fight extradition. They will be reunited with their Four children this evening – and will be back in court in October. What this story does not say is that PF Dickson lied to have us remanded and there should be an investigation into the withholding of information that would of granted Kerry-Ann Shanks and Brian Howes bail instead of spending 214 days in prison without charge or even questioning or evidence of any kind. And no criminal records.
